NOS/NSQ Automotive Mechatronics

This National Occupational Standards document was issued by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC). The primary purpose of this standard is to update Nigeria's automotive training curriculum, which had become obsolete, by creating a competency-based framework focused on automotive mechatronics. This initiative aims to address significant skill deficiencies among Nigerian auto-mechanics, particularly concerning modern electrical and electronic systems, standardized fault-finding, and proper tool usage. By establishing a structured, modularized curriculum, the NOS seeks to standardize vocational training and improve the overall quality of automotive skills across the nation.Furthermore, this standard serves as a foundational document for institutionalizing the National Vocational Qualification Framework (NVQF) within the Nigerian automotive industry. The framework was developed in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, ensuring its relevance and practicality.

This NOS on Automotive Mechatronics, developed by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), provides a comprehensive curriculum framework for formal and informal automotive training and certification in Nigeria.
