<p>This National Occupational Standards (NOS) outlines the competency standards required for individuals working in the painting and decoration industry. It details the knowledge, understanding, and skills necessary to perform various job roles within this sector, structured across three progressive levels. The standard was developed by the Federal Ministry of Education and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in Nigeria, with funding support from the Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project. </p><p>The primary purpose of this NOS is to serve as a benchmark for vocational training, assessment, and certification in painting and decoration, aiming to ensure that individuals possess the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to meet industry demands, enhance employability, and standardize the quality of work within the sector in Nigeria.</p>
